Welcome wayward travelers

We're brand new so we're glad you found us! Amalgamized is envisioned primarily as a resource for those interested in bringing manufacturing tools into the work shop. We'll also be doing occasional features on design events as well as specialized topics like experimental materials, digital fabrication, modular structures craft innovation etc. We're starting simple with a sparse but relevant approach.

If you you're a DIY designer, innovative craftsmen, artistic engineer or an otherwise confused individual and have something you'd like featured or simply a good resource to share we'd love to hear from you.

Our First post will be photo documentation with some short comments on the International Contemporary Furniture Fair, ICFF, which we attended in New York, NY this 2011.

Coming soon will be a feature on a cheap and sleek $25 DIY vacuum forming machine that anyone can build. This will be followed shortly therafter by a note on David 3D laser scanners as well as a document of the creation of a DIY rotational casting device, (roto-mold). Far off in the future we see digital ceramics, 3D printing experiments and coffee can foundries so add us to your RSS feed so you don't miss out!
